TErrestrial Trunked RAdio (TETRA) is an open digital trunked radio standard defined by
the European Telecommunications Standardisation Institute (ETSI) to meet the needs of
the most demanding professional radio user. Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) operating
platform allows four time slots or communication path per carrier channel.
This digital technology opens up a range of user features and
communication management and control capabilities that
traditional ‘analogue radio systems’ have not been able to
deliver.
This system has been installed to further support the need for better communication between the people in the field and between each other without the need for a mobile phone as a second device.
