Sizing of the Unit:
First, What size is the House? Measure the total area of the house then multiply by 0.8 to take out bathrooms etc. so if you have 170M2 x 0.8 = 136M2.

Then determine the heat load, Light (145 Watts/M2) , Normal (155 Watts/M2), or very hot (180 Watts/M2) in summer. Think about how hot your house gets in summer this will assist you here.

Once you know this you then need to know what you likely Maximum area is that you will have on at any given time, say 70% of that area.

So; 136 M2 x 0.7 = 95 M2. So take the 95 x (medium heat Load @155 Watts/M2) = 14725Watts / 1000 = 14.7KW.

Remember that you need to work out the maximum area that you will be cooling before you decide on the area in this table, a common mistake is to oversize. Please refer to the steps above.
